I announced my retirement of my own accord: Eshwarappa
Senior BJP leader, former minister KS Eshwarappa has announced his retirement from electoral politics.
In a letter to BJP National President JP Nadda, Eshwarappa said, "I want to voluntarily retire from electoral politics."
He has requested that my name should not be considered for any constituency in this assembly election.
Former minister and senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa has clarified that he withdrew from electoral politics of his own free will for the sake of the party's prosperity and to give a chance to new candidates.
Speaking in Shimoga, Eshwarappa said that during the State Election Committee, I had made a request to the senior leaders of the party that I would not contest the election this time, but none of the party seniors agreed to it, so this morning I wrote a letter to BJP National President JP Nadda requesting that my name not be considered for any Vidhan Sabha seat this time. He said that he has come to this decision in the desire to give full majority to the party organization and make more efforts to bring full majority in the coming days, so he has decided to withdraw from electoral politics.
BJP has not got full majority in Karnataka till now. BJP should get full majority in this election. Lakhs of youth are working for BJP government to come to power. I will go back to the party organization. He said that besides bringing full majority in the state, Narendra Modi should win again in 2024.
